She completed the study singing at the Music Academy of Cologne. The singer began her stage career in 1931 at the State Theatre in Wiesbaden. Later she came to the municipal theater of Kaiserslautern, and she sang 1937-1938 at the City Theatre of Ulm. In 1938 guest performance at the State Opera of Hamburg as Aida, Tosca and Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana,” to which she was engaged at this opera house. Here she found her true artistic home and remained until her departure from the stage 1963 Member of the House, where it stood at more than 800 performances on stage. She was made an honorary member of the Hamburg State Opera. By the outbreak of World War II a great international career of the singer was prevented, but she was next to her work in Hamburg notable successes during their tour of Germany’s leading opera houses, they sang 1953 at the Municipal Opera Berlin Kundry in “Parsifal”, 1957 in Dusseldorf Brünnhilde in “Ring of the Nibelung.” 1952 and 1956 she was with the Hamburg ensemble as a guest in England, where she performed both at the Edinburgh Festival. She has since appeared in 1952 at the Covent Garden Opera in London as Amelia in Verdi’s “Ballo in Maschera”, also at the Vienna State Opera, the Paris Grand Opera, the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona and at the Opera House of Zurich appeared as a guest. First and foremost, it was Wagner soprano, but contained her extensive stage repertoire numerous roles from the dramatic soprano roles such as Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni”, the Tosca, Aida, Amelia in “Un Ballo in Maschera” by Verdi, the Leonore in “La forza del destino”, the Marschallin in “Rosenkavalier”, the Dyer’s Wife in “Die Frau ohne Schatten” that Leonore in “Fidelio” and the Countess in “The Marriage of Figaro” to concert soprano as she had a successful career. She later worked as a teacher in Hamburg.

After the singer had sung unfortunately no official records, was finally on melodrama an integral recording of the “Flying Dutchman,” published in which she sings Senta; here is the recording of a program of the North German Radio Orchestra under Wilhelm Schüchter. On the same brand she sings, again in a radio recording from 1950, the queen of the earth spirits in “Hans Heiling” by Heinrich Marschner.
