LOTTE SCHRADER, Soprano, * 26 May 1899 Dresden, † ?;

She was a granddaughter of bassist William Eichberger (1830-1904), she studied with Elisabeth Rethberg in Dresden and New York even at Josephine Strakosch, Ivo H. and Gertrude Götte Callam. In 1923 she made her debut at the Dresden State Opera as Pamina in “The Magic Flute.” Until 1926 she was a member of this opera house and then 1926-33 was active as a concert and oratorio soprano in Germany and devoted this time to the improvement of their training. 1933-39 she was engaged as first dramatic soprano at the Brunswick State Theatre, where she attended the premiere of Gian Francecso Maliperos “La Favola del figlio Cambiato”. In 1939-1942 she worked at the Berlin Volksoper. In 1938, she made guest appearances at the Opera House of Frankfurt as Nedda in “Pagliacci” in 1938 and sang with this group in the Athens Brünnhilde in “Valkyrie”, and later at the Teatro Liceo in Barcelona. In 1936 she gave concerts in Paris, she performed in 1936 at the Opera House in Brno (Brno), 1937 at the Opera House of Cologne, 1939 at the opera houses of Brussels and Liège, 1942-43 at the Vienna State Opera. In 1942 she sang at La Scala in the Isolde in “Tristan”. Further guest brought her to the Opera of Rome, at the State Operas of Munich (including 1942 as Isolde in “Tristan”) and Stuttgart successes. Highlights in her stage repertoire was beside the Wagner heroines, the Marschallin in “Rosenkavalier” and Ariadne in the opera by Richard Strauss. Until 1952, it is hospitable as occurred, inter alia at the State Theatre of Coburg in Nibelungenring. In 1947-1951 she was a lecturer at the College of Music Weimar, teacher since 1951 in Berlin.

Records of the artist are known so far, but may exist recordings of performances.
